Publisher Badge Terms of Service

1. Service Description
The Decipon Publisher Badge Service ("Service") provides embeddable badges that display Influence Tactics Protocol (ITP) analysis scores for web content. Badges link to a verification page hosted by Decipon confirming score authenticity.
2. As-Is Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Decipon makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of ITP scores. Scores represent algorithmic assessments of manipulation tactics and should not be treated as definitive judgments of content truthfulness or quality.
3. Domain Verification
Publishers must verify ownership of each domain where badges are embedded. Verified domains are re-checked every 7 days. If re-verification fails, a 48-hour grace period is provided before the domain is deactivated. Deactivated domains can be re-verified at any time.
4. Badge Freshness
Badges for content analyzed more than 30 days ago display an "Aging" label. Publishers are encouraged to re-analyze content periodically for accurate scores.
5. Acceptable Use
Publishers agree not to:
- Modify, tamper with, or misrepresent badge scores
- Display badges on domains not verified through the Service
- Generate artificial impressions or manipulate analytics
- Use badges to imply endorsement by Decipon
- Embed badges on content that promotes violence, hatred, or illegal activity
6. Revocation
Decipon reserves the right to revoke badge access for any publisher at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these terms or any other reason. Revocation may include deactivation of verified domains and invalidation of publisher tokens.
7. Analytics & Privacy
The Service collects badge impression and click counts aggregated by content hash and hour. Embedding domain names are recorded for analytics purposes. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected. Deduplication uses daily-rotating cryptographic salts. The Service does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or browser fingerprinting on publisher sites.
8. GDPR Compliance
The badge widget processes minimal data necessary for service operation. As no PII is collected or stored, standard GDPR data subject rights (access, erasure, portability) do not apply to impression data. Publishers are responsible for their own privacy policies regarding third-party embeds.
9. Changes to Terms
Decipon may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via the publisher dashboard.
